MARK HUGHES, the manager of Blackburn Rovers, may have revealed himself as too sensitive a soul for Premiership management yesterday after his feelings were hurt by that nasty Nigel Worthington. Blackburn play Norwich City at Ewood Park today and Worthington, the Norwich manager, unkindly suggested Rovers were horrid bullies. It was all that Hughes, 42¼, could do to stop himself bursting into tears.
“I am disappointed with the comments attributed to Nigel Worthington, trying to put labels on my team,” Hughes said. “The fact that he is trying to make the point that we look to intimidate teams and bully teams is completely wrong, and I resent the fact that those comments were made.”
