Peter Biddlecombe

Peter Biddlecombe has edited crosswords for The Sunday Times since his predecessor Barbara Hall retired at the end of 2010. He previously worked in IT. He attempted to solve cryptic crosswords in his spare time, starting in his schooldays, successfully enough to later win the Times Crossword Championship in 2000 and 2007, and created a blog called Times for The Times, explaining the answers to The Times and Sunday Times crosswords. He writes some of the general knowledge crosswords in The Sunday Times, and cryptic crosswords for the Times Literary Supplement, for which he is also the crossword editor. In his spare time, he plays bass trombone in various musical ensembles.
