Meta Platforms Inc. is the rebranded technology conglomerate formerly known as Facebook Inc., founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004. Meta is the parent owner of some of the world’s biggest social media networks and platforms including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Its business mission is to develop the metaverse, which intends to evolve online social interaction via virtual reality and augmented reality technologies.
