Princess Diana

Diana, Princess of Wales, was the first wife of Prince Charles and mother to Prince William and Prince Harry. She was born into an aristocratic family as the youngest daughter of John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer. Diana married Prince Charles in 1981. They separated in 1992 and were divorced in 1996. Princess Diana took up a number of humanitarian causes, raising awareness of the danger of landmines and helping to break down the stigma surrounding HIV. In 1997 she was killed in a car crash in Paris at the age of 36.
