Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

  • Introduction – An introduction to the project.
  • Wikidata tours – Interactive tutorials to show you how Wikidata works.
  • Community portal – The portal for community members.
  • User options – including the 'Babel' extension, to set your language preferences.
  • Contents – The main help page for editing and using the site.
  • Project chat – Discussions about the project.
  • Tools – A collection of user-developed tools to allow for easier completion of some tasks.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask on Project chat. If you want to try out editing, you can use the sandbox to try. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and become an active editor for Wikidata.

Extract IDs from VIAF

[edit]

Hi! I see that you often extract IDs from VIAF ID (P214) manually. It's very slow and time-consuming, you may try User:Bargioni/moreIdentifiers which is comfortable and fast. If you have any doubt, you can ask me. Bye, --Epìdosis 16:22, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please only add CHECKED IDENTIFIERS. Using moreIdentifiers is fast but of cause this does not mean you can just click without looking at the IDs. (Otherwise we would use a bot.) In Herbert Müller (Q123942): Swiss racing driver (1940-1981) non of your edits is correct. @Epìdosis: FYI. --Kolja21 (talk) 23:15, 26 July 2022 (UTC) [1][reply]
Hello Gusfriend, instead of correcting your errors you are adding more IDs. Please respond and check your old edits. Other example: LCAuth for Team Penske: no2008085661%E2%80%8F. The ID is followed by an exclamation mark (!) = Your edit generates an error. @MisterSynergy: FYI. --Kolja21 (talk) 14:03, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will go and back to look at what is going on when I get the chance. Gusfriend (talk) 12:49, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
