Material by two top comedians is getting a special preview at Norden Farm this month before they take their show to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Avalon Edinburgh Preview: Josh Weller and Bella Hull takes place at the Maidenhead arts venue on Thursday, June 27.
Josh Weller is a failed musician turned comedian, viral content maker, comic book author and podcast host. He brings a high-energy brand of cleverly self-deprecating stand-up that landed him on pro bills after just one year on the circuit.
In addition to his live comedy work, Josh has developed a loyal fanbase for his viral musical videos and online content such as mockumentaries, sketches, professional trolling, animated stand-up comedy shorts, and character work.
His 2020 mockumentary The U2 Taken Paradox has had over a million views and angered legions of loyal U2 fans.
He has written for Spitting Image and Alex Edelman’s BBC Radio 4 show Peer Group. His dark comedy graphic novel Die Already was published by CollegeHumour in 2019.
Before comedy, Weller was signed with Universal Records as a teenager. He went on to tour the world as a solo artist and the lead singer of popular punk act The Kenneths, and toured with The Offspring, The Descendents and Mumford and Sons.
Bella Hull is a London stand-up comedian and writer who brought her debut hour, Babycakes to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022 and subsequently to London’s Soho Theatre to wide acclaim.
She regularly plays to sell-out crowds across the UK. Her television appearances include BBC’s Stand Up for Live Comedy, ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show and Comedy Central Live.
She also co-hosts the Last Night Ever podcast with Jacob Hawley.
Bella is working on a script commission with the BBC, and her writing has been featured on BBC Radio 4’s Newsjack, Flux Magazine. She is the advice columnist for Quadra magazine.
