Free Fishing Day is set for July 4 in Mississippi

The license requirement will be waived for fishing on any public water throughout the state on July 4th.

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) – Free Fishing Day in Mississippi is coming up on July 4.

All day, no license will be required to fish on public waters, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.

The MDWFP says that permits to fish at a state-owned lake will still be required.
