JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — Mississippi’s ban on “squatted vehicles” goes into effect on July 1.
Gov. Tate Reeves signed House Bill 349 into law on April 25.
The bill specifically bans vehicles with front fenders that are four or more inches higher than rear fenders.
The modification gives the vehicle a “squatting” appearance.
“Motor vehicles equipped with high clearance fenders to allow for increased front suspension articulation shall be exempt…,” the bill reads.
Violators face misdemeanor charges, fines and suspension of licenses.
