NORTHEASTERN PONTOTOC AND NORTHWESTERN LEE COUNTIES THROUGH 830 PM
CDT...

At 757 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Trace State Park, moving northwest at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Tupelo, New Albany, Trace State Park, Ecru, New Harmony, Sherman,
Blue Springs, Endville, Cherry Creek, Branyan, Ellistown, Jug Fork,
Baker, Nixon, Union Hill, Martintown, Wallerville, Belden, Ingomar,
and Birmingham.

Local Tennessee Volunteers fan shares the moment she witnessed history

The Tennessee Volunteers won their first baseball national title at the 2024 Men's College World Series. Debby Gibbs lives in Tupelo and is one of those fans that's waited years to see the Vols win the trophy.

TUPELO, Miss. - The Tennessee Volunteers won their first baseball national title at the 2024 Men's College World Series. Debby Gibbs lives in Tupelo and is one of those fans that has waited years to see the Vols win the trophy.

She started watching the Vols with her dad growing up. Now, she has worn the orange for over 50 years. 

Gibbs said she started singing "Rocky Top" to her dog Oliver, when the final strike was thrown against Texas A&M. Tennessee won 6-5.
