The band, while far from a household name, is certainly a notable band in the independent rock scene. A Google search will show that they have been covered by Rolling Stone, Spin, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and Consequence of Sound, just to name a few prominent music publications. They have played major music festivals (as outlined in the Wikipedia article), and a YouTube video of their SXSW performance from last year has over 100,000 views. Relatively, yes, they are not a popular band in the mainstream (their band name alone assures that will be the case over the course of their career). However, I think they are notable enough that the page should remain.

Full disclosure: I helped make this page as an assignment for a Wikipedia class at my university over a year ago. I made it because I not only love this band, but thought it would be funny to make final college project about a band named Diarrhea Planet. Easily meets WP:GNG with coverage from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, SPIN, NPR, Allmusic (bio and two reviews), IndyWeek, Vice, MTV, Esquire, plus Stereogum, Alternative Press, Paste, Soundcheck, Billboard, The Tennessean, AV Club, Boise Weekly, Orlando Weekly, Riverfront Times...(I gave up searching at this point). --Michig (talk) 20:48, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keep, seems clear to me, the band is widely reported on and any DP activity is cause for news.
