Water infrastructure in Jamaica was damaged by Hurricane Beryl, putting the health of many people at risk. Our Rapid Response Team installed an AquaResponse3 water purification system at a community kitchen run by World Central Kitchen. This will ensure that the chefs have clean water to cook free meals for affected families and the community will have access to safe, clean drinking water. Our team had the pleasure of visiting one of our charity partners, GlobalMedic (David McAntony Gibson Foundation). They work worldwide to support people affected by poverty, disaster or conflict, providing humanitarian aid in times of crisis. We met with executive director, Rahul Singh and had a great discussion about all of the projects they lead and the impact of our donations. Thank you for having us and we are excited to continue working together. 💜 To learn more about their mission or how you can help, visit https://globalmedic.ca/ #globalmedic #charity #partners #LifeAtTELUS

Thank you WestJet for helping us get the right aid to the right people at the right time! Today, WestJet flew our Rapid Response Team to Montego Bay along with a water purification system. From there our team will travel to Treasure Beach to install the system in a community kitchen to help keep affected families healthy as they recover from Hurricane Beryl. Thanks to WestJet, the kitchen will have safe water to cook with and the community will have access to clean drinking water.

The high winds, flooding and storm surge caused by Hurricane Beryl created extensive damage in Jamaica, leaving many families without access to clean drinking water and at risk of dangerous waterborne illnesses. Thanks to the generous support of WestJet, our Rapid Response Team is en route to Jamaica with an AquaResponse3 Water Purification system and two generators. This equipment will be installed at a community kitchen that is distributing meals for people affected by the hurricane to ensure the food is prepared with safe water.

Hurricane Beryl caused extensive damage in Jamaica and many vulnerable families are at risk because they lack access to food and clean drinking water. Our Emergency Food Kits and Family Emergency Kits have arrived in Jamaica this weekend and will support affected families. Each Family Emergency Kit contains a point-of-use water purification unit, a solar light, and essential hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap. Our point-of-use water purification units use gravity to filter out over 99.9999 percent of bacteria, parasites and other microorganisms found in dirty or contaminated water. These units can provide an entire family with clean drinking water for up to one year. Please help us continue supporting more families with urgently needed aid by donating to our Hurricane Beryl Response fund at https://lnkd.in/evB6Zrck IDRF (International Development and Relief Foundation) Air Canada Food For The Poor
