We will be speaking at the Symposium for the 2025 Novo Nordisk Challenge Programme on the theme: Heterogeneity in Biomanufacturing On 18 June 2024 the Novo Nordisk Foundation will host a symposium with the aim of bringing together the bioindustrial research community for an exciting ½-day of knowledge sharing and networking. We are pleased that our CSO, Peter Rugbjerg, has been invited as one of the few key speakers to enlighten a broad audience on this exciting theme for the 2025 Challenge Programme. Peter highlights: “It is very exciting that the Novo Nordisk Foundation chose heterogeneity as topic for its Challenge Programme. There are many challenging areas that the industry will benefit from seeing uncovered, one prime example being deep single-cell detection and diagnosis to enable our basic understanding. I look forward to sharing our perspectives and meeting researchers from across the community.” Having developed groundbreaking technology to address heterogeneity in biomanufacturing, Peter is seen as a leading expert in the field. We look forward to engaging with research and industry partners during the Symposium forging new paths and driving innovation forward. #Biomanufacturing #Bioproduction #Synbio #fermentation #bioprocess #ResearchInnovation #Sustainability #GreenTransition

Yesterday at SynBioBeta, Enduro hosted a lively panel discussion on controlling cellular variation in commercial-scale biomanufacturing. Jay Keasling (University of California, Berkeley), Kirsten Benjamin (Pivot Bio), Adam Burja (dsm-firmenich) and Peter Rugbjerg (Enduro) enlightened a packed room on the industrywide challenges and opportunities of cell heterogeneity. During the session the panel discussed the current situation in the industry, first-line and long-term solutions incl. future perspectives for optimizing cell-to-cell variations for maximizing output of bioreactors. It was clear that heterogeneity is both a challenge and an opportunity in the industry. As Adam Burja, Head of Biotechnology at dsm-firmenich, nicely described cell heterogeneity “If you haven’t found it; look deeper”. Peter Rugbjerg sums up the panel: “Leading companies are working very dedicatedly to control and take advantage of cellular heterogeneity. We need to design strain and processes to take advantage of cells’ ability to evolve. At Enduro we believe our biosensor-directed plug in will be a game changer important to actively select the highest-yielding cell variants in culture.” At Enduro we work with industry leading companies to optimize biomanufacturing productivity. We are super excited for our panel at this year’s SynBioBeta with the title “Creating new Biomanufacturing Opportunities by Optimizing Cell-to-Cell Variations in Bioreactors”. Here, our co-founder and CSO, Peter Rugbjerg, will join leading industry and academic innovators to discuss the challenge and opportunity to enable success when scaling new bioprocesses by optimizing cell-to-cell variations. Peter Rugbjerg highlights “Cellular variation is an industry-wide opportunity in biomanufacturing where leading companies have worked for a long time to make the rarer high-producer cells the “normal” cells. At Enduro, we believe that broad SynBio tools such as Enduro Sense offer an opportunity to generate more value in biomanufacturing processes and we look forward to discussing this opportunity.” We are looking forward to meeting up with current and future partners during SynBioBeta and to seeing everyone interested in the topic at the session. #Biomanufacturing #bioprocesses #fermentation #bioproductionatscale #bioproduction #syntheticbiology #SynbioBeta2024 #bioeconomy
