File:The James Plays.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Sandy Fortingal (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

WP:DECORATIVE non-free use in Rona Munro#Career which fails WP:NFCC#8. This particular program cover is not itself the subject of any sourced critical commentary anywhere in the article which means it's compliance with NFCC#8 is questionable at best per WP:NFC#CS and WP:NFC#cite_note-3. The purpose of the file per the non-free use rationale provided for this particular use states "pecifically to illustrate three of Rona Munro's most successful and best known dramatic works", but that is the very definition of decorative non-free use since non-free images are not used to simply "illustrate" someones "best known works". I can see any way to justify this other that perhaps for primary indentification purposes in a stand-alone article about "The James Plays" itself or some kind of critical commentary about the programs cover being added to the article about Munro. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:05, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File:MishimaCoupSpeech.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Solid State Survivor (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

There is a similar image in Mishima's article. This means that this image violates our policies regarding non-free content. ―Susmuffin Talk 05:12, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File:Lizzie McGuire Movie Score.webp (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Chrisisreed (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Non-free image claimed to be used as "primary means of visual identification at the top of the article" but is in fact used in a section of the article. The image is also substantially the same as the soundtrack image used at the top of the article. Fails WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFCC#3a. Whpq (talk) 12:30, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File:Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School (1939).jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Chrisisreed (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This non-free image is being used to support that the "tower on the building is the one represented on the Montgomery College crest". That fact can be describer with text and the article actually has no significant commentary about tower and its use in the crest. Fails WP:NFCC#1 and WP:NFCC#8. Whpq (talk) 12:58, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The image is also being used, semi-obviously to show the original building the college started in being BCC.Chrisisreed (talk) 13:02, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That usage is not stated to be part of purpose of this image, and even if it were, as used it fails WP:NFCC#1 and WP:NFCC#8 because its origins at the high school is adequately conveyed with text and there is no significant sourced commentary about the image itself. -- Whpq (talk) 13:16, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Follow-up: I've done all of the above except for copying to Commons. Leaving that for closer or a later user. --Elephanthunter (talk) 16:57, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

unused professional portrait, claimed own work, but attributed to someone other than the uploader, dubious self-work claim FASTILY 21:42, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete On the file information page, the photo is attributed to Lynne Eccard, but it doesn't say who Lynne Eccard is. Is this the uploader or is it someone else? Due to lack of clarity, I don't think we should keep the file.
I note that the article John Most was deleted in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Most. Is the deleted article about the person depicted? If so, then I think that the photo is out of scope. Note that the page John Most later was recreated as a redirect to the article about a different person. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:54, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
