Hello Grind24, you'll have to post a notification to a public noticeboard/discussion board on the local wiki anyway. Then, after at least seven days you can get here to request the rights. Admins are appointed by a consensus of the community so you will need to make your request there, and after a week stewards will evaluate it. Please link to any such discussion in the template field above.   • I do not know Urdu, and Google translate is choppy, but it seems to me that the opposition posed by Irfan Ashad is significant in that it relates to both an incomplete knowledge of Urdu by the requester and behavioural concerns about the candidate. I would tend to close this as no consensus to approve, but it would be better if we had someone who knows Urdu (better than Google) confirm or refute my understanding. -- Avi (talk) 17:32, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
    • After talking with an Urdu speaker (albiet ur-1) it seems that most of the comments are directed at the candidate's poor understand of the language or wiki policies. Checkusers and oversighters on nowiki

We (the functionaries) came to the conlusion that the need for these tools on the Norwegian Wikipedia, since the volume is so low that the tools are rarely used, and hence we don't feel confident with how to use the tools when we need them. We would rather have this function served by the stewards, who are more competent in their use. The discussion where this was decided is archived on no:Wikipedia:Tinget/Arkiv/2014-48#Avslutning av IP-kontrollør funksjon (CU). For what it is worth, it seems that the two admins are somewhat active; one as of June 15, the other as of August 3 of this year. However, as they appear for a few edits and then are absent for months, if not years at a time, this will be granted for 6 months.

Stewards are not required to - and at least, speaking for me, not capable of - judging your contributions. The requirements for you to get another period of adminship on lb.wiktionary are even simpler: post a notice (just a line saying you are requesting sysop bit) and then come back here after one week. This is not begging, it's only the normal procedure that I cannot change or ignore. You can also have your tools never removed: just post the request one week prior to expiration. In Italian wikiversity there is no active admin. We want to ask if it is possible to have transwiki import permission (module already enabled) to the small set of active users:

• it:v:Utente:Fede_Reghe
• it:v:Utente:Hippias
• it:v:Utente:R5b43

There are some pages waiting to be imported for many years in it.wikipedia (w:it:Wikipedia:Proposte_di_trasferimento#Wikiversit.C3.A0) and sometimes some imports for templates are needed. We ask the permissions for more than one user because none of us contributes steadily during the year, and one doesn't have to wait to another user's return to import something.
