Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024: Mukesh Ambani outlines five commitments by Reliance to make Gujarat a global leader
Vibrant Gujarat Summit: Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani outlined five key commitments aiming to position Gujarat as a global leader at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit on Wednesday.
According to an ET report, these commitments involve leading the state towards green growth, using 5G and AI technologies, creating jobs, and promoting inclusive economic development.
Mukesh Ambani announced the start of the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Complex in Jamnagar, aiming to make it operational by the latter half of 2024. He said that this initiative would generate many eco-friendly jobs, support the manufacturing of green products, and establish Gujarat as a key exporter of such environmentally friendly goods.

The second promise highlighted that Reliance Jio is swiftly introducing 5G infrastructure. Reliance chairman said, “Today Gujarat is fully 5G enabled - something that most of the world does not yet have. This will make Gujarat a Global Leader in Digital Data Platforms and AI Adoption. The 5G-enabled AI revolution will make Gujarat's economy more productive, more efficient and more globally competitive. Besides generating millions of new employment opportunities, it will produce AI enabled Doctors, AI enabled Teachers and AI enabled Farming, which will revolutionise Healthcare, Education and Agricultural productivity in the State of Gujarat. This will benefit every Gujarati in urban as well as rural areas, since to my mind AI also means an All Inclusive growth.”

Thirdly, Mukesh Ambani assured that Reliance's Retail section will boost its efforts to deliver top-notch products to consumers while simultaneously empowering many farmers and small-scale merchants. He promised that the retail business aims to improve the quality of life for households in Gujarat by providing better products and services.

The fourth and fifth commitments aim to make Gujarat a leader in new materials and the circular economy, along with developing infrastructure for better education and sports. Ambani said that Reliance will make Gujarat a pioneer in New Materials and the Circular Economy. “As a first step, Reliance is setting up India's first and world-class Carbon Fibre facility at Hazira,” he said. Prime Minister Modi has announced that India will bid for the 2036 Olympics. “In preparation for that, Reliance and Reliance Foundation will join forces with several other partners in Gujarat to improve education, sports and skills infrastructure that will nurture the champions of tomorrow in various Olympics sports”, Ambani added.
