Vigilance and enforcement teams intensify enquiry across multiple departments in TTD
TIRUPATI: Special teams from the state vigilance and enforcement which have been camping in the temple city of Tirupati, have intensified their enquiry across multiple departments of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams during the last two weeks.
Following the announcement of chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu that the state govt's streamlining and clean-up drive will begin from the TTD, special teams from the state vigilance and enforcement, have commenced their enquiry into multiple irregularities reported in the Tirupati trust during the last five years.

According to reliable sources, the focus of the vigilance and enforcement enquiry has predominantly been on the functioning of the Srivani trust, processes involved in terms of reveiving of donations and issuance of VIP break darshan under the Srivani trust, construction of new temples taken up across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana using Srivani funds.
Other aspects being probed into by the vigilance and enforcement teams include the issuance of the most sought after VIP break darshan and arjitha sevas tickets under the discretionary quota, abnormal spike in the engineering works spends in the TTD during the YSRCP regime, allocation and renewal of shop and hawkers licenses at Tirumala, cottage re-donation scheme, procurement of high value raw materials used for the preparation of Srivari Prasadams including the world renowned Tirupati Laddu etc.
According to sources, two superintendent level officers, who almost worked almost for the entire five years tenure of the YSRCP govt, at the Tirumala additional EO's camp office, were reportedly questioned for several hours by the vigilance and enforcement teams.
Hundreds of crores of rupees allocated for various unplanned engineering works in the last five years have also reportedly come under the scanner amidst allegations that many of these works were initiated with the sole intention to fill the coffers of the contractors backed by the erstwhile YSRCP govt.
While the enquiry is expected to further intensify in the next couple of weeks, some TTD senior officials who worked closely with the previous YSRCP regime, are learnt to be feeling extremely uncomfortable with the vigilance and enforcement enquiry.
