NEW DELHI: On Monday, heavy rains and train delays disrupted daily life in Mumbai, affecting even legislators and a state minister on their way to a state legislature session.
Maharashtra Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Anil Patil and NCP MLC Amol Mitkari had to disembark from a Howrah-Mumbai train and walk along the tracks, as shown in a viral video.

"The train was stuck up for about two hours. We got down on the tracks between Dadar and Kurla stations. I walked around 2 to 2.5 km, including on railway tracks, and reached Nehru Nagar police station,” Mitkari said. He added that some other legislators were also stuck on the same train.
Patil attended a meeting later that day chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at Mantralaya.
Subsequently, Patil and Mitkari visited the BMC disaster management control room to assess the heavy rain situation.
