Sharvari Wagh, the rising star of Bollywood, is riding high on the success of her latest film, Munjya. The horror-comedy flick has not only tickled the audience’s funny bone but also left them spooked in equal measure. Critics are raving about Sharvari’s performance, and fans can’t get enough of her quirky charm.
But did you know that Sharvari’s journey to stardom began behind the scenes? Before gracing the silver screen, she cut her teeth as an assistant director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum production, Bajirao Mastani.
From clapperboards to close-ups, Sharvari learned the ropes while working alongside the filmmaker.

In an exclusive chat with News18, Sharvari spilled the beans about her early days on set. “We’ve had so much fun during the shoot for Bajirao Mastani,” she reminisced, her eyes sparkling with nostalgia. “I was under the guidance of Sanjay Sir when I assisted in the second half of the film. It was like attending the ultimate masterclass in filmmaking.”
Sharvari’s path crossed with another talented assistant director –Sharmin Segal. Remember her from Bhansali’s project, Heeramandi? Well, turns out, Sharmin and Sharvari were like two peas in a pod. “We had separate units,” Sharvari explained, “and I was on the action unit while Sharmin worked on the sand-me unit. But fate had other plans. We’d exchange knowing glances during lunch breaks, both dreaming of facing the camera someday.”

And dream they did! Sharmin’s transition from behind-the-scenes magic to the spotlight mirrors Sharvari’s own journey. “We shared this passion for acting,” Sharvari revealed, “and now, seeing her shine in Heeramandi, I couldn’t be happier. It’s like watching your best friend conquer the world.”
So, next time you’re at the cinema, keep an eye out for Sharvari Wagh – the girl who went from calling “Action!” to stealing hearts.
