Vineeth Sreenivasan’s directorial ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ has started streaming on OTT platforms. The film, which stars Dhyan Sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal in the lead roles, initially received positive reviews during its theatrical release. However, since its digital debut, it has faced mixed reactions, with criticisms focusing on its slow-paced storytelling and overdramatic execution.
A particular point of contention among audiences has been the repetitive use of the song ‘Nyabagam’ in multiple sequences, which many found irritating.

In response to these critiques, Vineeth Sreenivasan earlier addressed the reason why the song was used repetitively during a promotional interview for the film. He explained the rationale behind the frequent use of ‘Nyabagam’ and other musical choices in ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’. According to Vineeth, the repetitive use of the song was a deliberate artistic decision aimed at maintaining a cohesive musical landscape throughout the film.
Vineeth shared that he had a specific vision for the film’s music and had instructed the music composer, Amrit Ramnath, to create certain songs on the same scale. This approach allowed for the melodies to be blended seamlessly within the background score, enhancing the emotional impact of the scenes. “In a particular scene where the journey of the lead characters is shown, the song ‘Jeevithagaadhakale’ is used. That song reappears in another emotional scene, with previous melody stems blended alongside,” Vineeth elaborated.
He emphasized that the purpose of this technique was to cross melodies between different songs and scenes, thus intensifying the film's emotional impact. By using songs repetitively and blending them, Vineeth aimed to keep the film on the same musical wavelength, thereby deepening the audience’s connection to the story.
