Sudheer Babu on his challenging path in film and his commitment to providing quality content in Tollywood

Telugu actor Sudheer Babu’s upcoming action romance film, 'Harom Hara,' directed by Gnanasagar Dwaraka, will be released on June 14. Sudheer, who is the brother-in-law of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, has been in the industry for over a decade and shared his insights about working in the industry.
Despite his familial connections to the superstar, Sudheer’s journey in the film industry hasn’t been a smooth ride.During his 12-year career, during an interview with Indian Express, he shared that he initially thought having Mahesh Babu as a brother-in-law might make it easier to get film offers. However, he quickly realized that showcasing his skills and proving his talent was no simple task.
He said, "I thought once I show people the skills I’ve learned, it would be easier to get offers. But that wasn’t the case. At the same time – I don’t know if it’s right or wrong – I had this principle that I won’t ask anybody to get me a film like my father-in-law, Krishna garu or Mahesh Babu. And that’s how it’s been for the last 12 years of my career."
His journey was marked by a conscious choice to prioritize quality over quantity. Sudheer revealed that he would rather stay at home than work on a script that didn’t excite him. This approach led to periods where he didn’t sign any films for up to two years, waiting for the right project to come along. Contrarily, there were also times when he signed multiple films within a short span because the scripts resonated with him.
"As you grow as an actor, people can see what range of skills you’ve got. Then you get a wider range of scripts. In the initial days when I started acting, it took time for people to notice that I can handle different genres of films and characters. Initially, it was a little slow. But once people started noticing me, directors started writing stories, keeping me in mind", he added.
With his upcoming film 'Harom Hara,' Sudheer hopes to continue this trend, bringing a new and exciting experience to the audience. The film is a love story with both Sudheer Babu and Malvika Sharma as the female lead will have a strong character.
