A patient-led charity supporting everyone in the UK affected by bladder cancer.
About us
Fight Bladder Cancer is a dynamic, patient-led charity which, though small, has a big influence both domestically and internationally. Everyone affected by bladder cancer – patients, carers, family and friends – can come to us for support, information and advice. We ensure that someone is speaking up for these people when key decisions are made about policy, care, and research. We continue to work hard delivering the legacy of Andrew Winterbottom, a determined bladder cancer patient who saw the lack of patient leadership for bladder cancer in the UK and worked with his wife to form this charity from their garden shed in 2009. The charity has continued to grow its footprint and is reaching more patients, family-members, and healthcare professionals than ever before. We’re the only UK-based bladder cancer charity founded and governed by bladder cancer survivors and their families. We’re here to explain the medical jargon, give the facts and figures, share our tips, and tell our stories. We support everyone affected by bladder cancer, we help to raise awareness, support medical research, and we campaign to affect policy at the highest levels to bring about change. Our aim is to achieve better outcomes and quality of life for all those affected.

A huge 'well done' to bladder cancer patient, Helen, who organised an awareness-raising event and cake sale at her workplace, KILWAUGHTER MINERALS LIMITED to support us at Fight Bladder Cancer. Helen delivered a presentation, bravely shared her story, handed out leaflets, and raised a brilliant £600 too! After her diagnosis, Helen had treatment in Scotland before relocating back to Northern Ireland, where she is now making links with other patients and organisations to set up a support group. Helen is also planning more awareness-raising events for the future, so if you're in NI, look out for her popping up near you! Thanks so much, Helen! #BladderCancer

This looks like such a brilliant day 👇🏼 Thanks so much for the ongoing support Lewis Rutter and all at Country Style Foods 🧡 #BladderCancer
Had the most amazing day at work at our (Pre) Summer Event Charity Fundraiser at Country Style Foods Head Office. Well done to everyone for such a massive effort. From face painting to hot dogs and tombola to throwing sponges and cream at the (poor) willing volenteers who were locked in stocks, we had it all! Raising over £1,000 for our pot for Fight Bladder Cancer while having so much fun!

We recently shared that our wonderful supporters had helped us to raise over £27,000 during #BladderCancerAwarenessMonth - amazing! Every single contribution is hugely appreciated and allows us to continue supporting bladder cancer patients and their families, while also pushing for policy change. Your donations support us with the cost of posting out patient information booklets, hosting our Zoom support group meetings, developing our website, and more! For everything you do to support us, thank you 🧡 #BladderCancer

Blood in your wee (no matter how much or how many times), a frequent need to wee or sudden urgency, and recurring UTIs that don’t clear up, are all symptoms of #BladderCancer. If something in your body doesn’t feel right, the thought that it could be cancer can play on your mind. But most people who go for tests find out it’s not cancer. 🧡 Finding out sooner is always better. Contact your GP practice.📞 #HelpUsHelpYou #ClearOnCancer

Thanks to Laura, bladder cancer patient, and proud owner of two stomas, for bringing this to our attention. A new set from Lego now includes the character Sara, who has a stoma, having fun with her friends at the water park 💦💦💦 Representation matters! #BladderCancerAwareness #BladderCancer
