World Cup Netherlands Squad

The Netherlands has unveiled its 15-member squad, led by Scott Edwards, for the upcoming ODI World Cup set to commence in India next month. Notably, experienced campaigners Roelof van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann have earned a recall after being absent during the Qualifiers, where the team secured the runner-up spot.

Both van der Merwe and Ackermann bring a wealth of international experience to the squad. Ackermann showcased his prowess as the team's second-highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup held last year in Australia, while van der Merwe has consistently impressed across various facets of the game. The Dutch side is placing high hopes on opener Max O'Dowd, anticipating him to perform at his peak. They also look to all-rounder Bas de Leede to make significant contributions in both batting and bowling departments.

Vikram Singh is another pivotal figure expected to play a crucial role with the bat, having emerged as the highest run-scorer during the Qualifiers. Under the guidance of coach Ryan Cook, the Netherlands will engage in two warm-up matches, facing Australia on September 30 and India on October 3, before embarking on their World Cup campaign against Pakistan three days later in Hyderabad.

This will mark the Dutch team's fifth appearance in the prestigious tournament, with past attempts seeing them fall short of advancing beyond the group stage on all four occasions.
