We are blown away by the incredible inventions at the Alief Independent School District Young Innovators Summer Academy Showcase!   Fourth and fifth-grade students spent nearly four weeks learning new skills and working on projects like Plot Coasters, Flight Lab, Robotic Pet Vet, Bot Ann E, Fair Game and Lost Treasure. At the showcase, they presented their amazing inventions and explained the science behind them.   It's inspiring to see their enthusiasm and curiosity in action. TeamCITGO was fueling good at a recent Second Servings of Houston popup event. Our employee volunteers, along with their family and friends, worked together to unload, organize and distribute free groceries to families in need. Second Servings is Houston’s only perishable food rescue organization. Since 2015, the nonprofit has been building a healthier community by providing access to nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste. Second Servings picks up unsold and unserved food from over 400 food businesses and delivers it promptly and safely, for free, to 140 local nonprofit partners. #TeamCITGO #FuelingGood

What an honor to receive the Partners in Education Award from Alief Independent School District. Congratulations to CITGO Senior Grease Product Specialist, Doug Rice, on being elected to the NLGI (National Lubricating Grease Institute) Board of Directors. CITGO Lemont Refinery and the Chicago Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) hosted a full day, live tabletop exercise (TTX) to analyze and enhance the coordinated crisis response between private and public partners across Illinois. The large-scale training event included ninety-seven attendees from thirty local, state and federal agencies. It consisted of a site-specific exercise scenario in which all stakeholder organizations could identify and analyze their own actions through the lens of the greater, synchronized effort to control a fictional Weapons of Mass Destruction incident.

Our CITGO Lake Charles Refinery team has wrapped up another fantastic fundraising event for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), raising more than $578,000 to accelerate research, advance care and empower families living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases to live longer, more independent lives. “The CITGO MDA Golf Classic is once again the largest single-day fundraiser for MDA in the state of Louisiana,” said Sterling Neblett, Vice President and General Manager of the Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex. “We are so appreciative of our generous vendors as we enjoyed the comradery and opportunity to strengthen those connections while supporting a wonderful cause.” "We extend our deepest gratitude for the unwavering support shown by CITGO, its dedicated employees, valued vendors, marketers, and retailers, throughout our partnership spanning 39 years," remarked Tracy Shield Denton, Senior Vice President, Development Partnerships, MDA.
