Here’s a great opportunity for Texas utility companies by our member Modern Hydrogen .
Modern Hydrogen's distributed hydrogen production systems enable clean heat and fuel, today. No waiting on hydrogen pipelines, or delivery trucks. No large, high-pressure storage necessary. No more emissions. Electricity can be used in many simple heating and power applications, but many high-grade heating applications remain out of reach. Additionally, the total amount of energy required for peak heating in the U.S. is more than double the capacity of our national electrical grid. This means that most heating in the U.S. cannot be electrified today and will not be fully electrified and powered by a clean grid for decades to come. So, what can be done to solve the massive problem of today’s emissions? At Modern Hydrogen, we understand the importance of energy-dense fuels and the high value of effectively storing and transporting them. When we focused our expertise in high-temperature physics, thermomechanical design, and applied chemistry on the problem, Modern Hydrogen™ was the result. We operate at the leading edge of new technologies that effectively decarbonize natural gas at the point of use for commercial and industrial operations, fuel cells, and power generation. Modern Hydrogen™ technology showcases many of the newest innovations in the transportation and production of clean hydrogen and high value solid carbon. Contact us today to learn more.

Is it a bug or a feature? There are 3 million miles of pipeline connecting natural gas to consumers in the continental U.S. and only 1,600 miles of hydrogen pipelines operating. Modern Hydrogen CEO Tony Pan spoke with Puget Sound Business Journal about how this discrepancy represents an opportunity. “Pretty much every business in the country already has natural gas, so we could just produce clean hydrogen directly on site from the gas pipeline, literally. We don’t need society to invest another $1 trillion and another century of time into a new grid for hydrogen.” Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gRXPHSne Rick Morgan #Hydrogen #Seattle #PugetSound #Decarbonization #NetZero #CleanEnergy #Infrastructure #EnergySecurity #Growth #Leadership #Values #Business #Technology 📸 by Anthony Bolante

Are you a "Champion of Innovation?" This Modern Hydrogen customer is! Congratulations Kim Rush, SVP and Chief Operating Officer at NW Natural! Each year, Energy Central spotlights four champions who are leading the utility industry into new heights and embracing the critical spirit of innovation. Decisions were "guided by choosing who they found to be on the most cutting edge of innovation and who has concrete results showing the payoff for their hard work," Energy Central wrote in the article announcing the champions: https://lnkd.in/gqUtF4Xc From the article: "Kim was nominated for her work in a novel hydrogen production technique utilizing methane pyrolysis. This is method of producing hydrogen that does not produce carbon emissions - thereby reducing the utility's emissions - but it also produces solid carbon as a byproduct, which can then be used as a valuable material input. Specifically, this lends itself to other infrastructure projects like asphalt for pot hole repair or use as an agent in other construction materials. The project includes a three-year partnership with a regional energy-technology company, Modern Hydrogen, to produce hydrogen that will be blended into NW Natural's gas use. This future-looking partnership and technique is a proving ground for efficient and cost-effective hydrogen production that is also green and creates spinoff value."
