We're welcoming a new member to The Global Online Safety Regulators Network 👋   The Autoriteit online Terroristisch en Kinderpornografisch Materiaal (ATKM) is one of the Netherlands’ online safety regulators, responsible for monitoring and removing terrorist content and child sexual abuse material online.   Arda Gerkens, Chair of the Board of ATKM said: “Regulation of the online world is still in its infancy. It is of the utmost importance to join forces, so we can be as effective as possible in reaching our common goals for online safety.”    They will be joining organisations across the world working together to help people live safer lives online. Snapchat has introduced new measures to protect its users - including changes to help prevent teenagers being contacted by strangers. Commenting on these new protections, Richard Wronka, Online Safety Supervision Director at Ofcom, said: “Children will be better protected on Snapchat as a result of the platform implementing this package of measures. "Under the Online Safety Act, we’ve proposed that larger and higher-risk services should make sure children don’t get direct messages from accounts with which they’re not already connected, and that their location information should not be visible to other users.” More on Snapchat's changes: https://lnkd.in/ej4T6ii6
