On a historic day for the UK, we’re looking forward to working with new Parliamentarians throughout the country. Our Full Fibre network is a national platform for growth, and we’re committed to delivering world class digital infrastructure to every corner of the UK. We're working in every constituency, and - by the end of the decade - we’ll reach as many as 30 million homes and businesses with ultrafast, ultra-reliable #FullFibre broadband, assuming the conditions are right. Our amazing colleague Phil Norman OLY just ran the fastest steeplechase by a Brit for 33 years 🤯🇬🇧   So we’re gutted he’s set to miss out on the Paris Olympics as he fell just 0.15(!) seconds short of the UK’s tough qualifying standard.   We couldn’t be prouder of Phil, who is always at the top of his game. Athletics connects people around the world, so we’d love to see him fly the flag. 🤞   You can read more about Phil and UK Athletics’ Olympic selection process here: https://bit.ly/3L8WqRh

A huge round of applause for two of our Service delivery teams in the North West, who recently took part in the inaugural Electricom Group ‘Kick Out Cancer Cup’; competing in a friendly game of footie to raise much-needed funds for charity 👏 Over £5,000 was raised overall, with the amount being split equally between Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Well done to everyone who contributed 🙌

“Go for it. Take advantage of what the Armed Forces has to offer, because the list is endless. You’ll learn life skills that you can’t obtain anywhere else.” Engineer Jade served five years in the Army. She travelled the world, learned to ski, helped provide security at the 2012 Olympics in London - experienced things she would have never had the chance to do if she hadn’t joined. Since 2020, Jade has been part of the Openreach team, installing and repairing broadband. We’re proud of her, and the thousands of members of the Armed Forces community who work with us 🙌 To all members of the Armed Forces community this #ArmedForcesDay - thank you.

Take a peek at our #INWED event! It’s a big day here at Openreach and was bigger than ever this year. It was brilliant to have record gatherings across the UK to celebrate our female #engineers. Thanks to everyone who worked on the events - in particular, Georgia Grimes and Maria Fletcher - to the industry leaders who took part in our panel - Kim Mears OBE, Owen Moody, Laura Potterton and Alan O'Prey - and all of our engineers! 👩🔧👩💻

Our CEO Clive Selley was delighted to join Ofcom’s ‘Step towards the future’ panel, celebrating one year on from the #WomenInTech pledge. We’re excited that the #Telco industry is banding together to help attract, retain and promote women in tech-based roles. Working together to help get more women into technology roles! Last night we were delighted to welcome senior leaders from across the telecoms industry, to an event to celebrate the first anniversary of the Women in Tech pledge. The pledge has been signed by some of the UK's biggest telecoms and technology organisations, who have each committed to taking action to help more women build rewarding careers in tech. A huge thank you to everyone who joined the event and the organisations working to drive more progress in representation of women in the telecoms sector. Who else is buzzing this #NationalInsectWeek? 🐛🐝🐜 This summer, we’ve teamed up with Buglife to take part in the UK-wide insect survey. With the second largest commercial fleet in the country, we travel far and wide, helping to provide plenty of insect splat samples. These are then used to log insect numbers year on year, allowing us to take action for nature! To get involved yourself or just find out more click: buglife.org.uk
