Brian Eno’s generative filmed premiered in Los Angeles last night. It is spectacular and shows the potential for film innovation that gives viewers something different each time. The filmmaker Gary Hustwit explained that there are anchor segments present in each version with bits surfaced differently. We got to see some great early U2, Bowie and Talking Heads clips. It’s touring major markets in theatres - GO! They called the generative AI tech Brain One. And are working on tech to repurpose for streaming. Carly Eiseman
I remember going to see Eno's generative light sculptures when I was a teenager in San Francisco and then a decade later, this lecture on generative sound/images for Wired back in 1996.
