Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles experienced a disappointing end to their 2023 season as they were eliminated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round of the NFC playoffs.

The Eagles began the season on a high note, holding a 10-1 record until Week 12 and leading their conference and division.

However, a drastic collapse followed, with just one win in their final six regular-season games.

Fans blast Hurts

The blame for the team's poor form fell heavily on Hurts, who was in the MVP conversation during their successful stretch but struggled to maintain a high standard in the last month-and-a-half.

Fans expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, criticizing Hurts for the team's early playoff exit.

"Jalen Hurts is the author of the greatest meltdown to a season in NFL history," a fan wrote. "Congrats Jalen Hurts you haven't paid rent in 2 months. Ended the year 1-6. Led the league in ints during that stretch. Can't handle pressure/blitz. Fraud. Get out of Philly. Request a trade plz!!!!!!"

Another added: "Jalen Hurts why don't u retire ? U play like ur on your 15th yr u suck ... demand a trade or something u bum."

While Hurts bears some responsibility, he is not the Eagles' biggest problem.

Despite finishing the Buccaneers game with a 100.9 passer rating, the team's defensive struggles, allowing an average of 25.2 points per game in the regular season, have been a significant liability.
