Job Description: Resident Medical Officer (RMO) - Emergency Department
Location: Surya Hospital Greater Noida
Position Summary:
The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) for the Emergency Department plays a pivotal role in providing timely and efficient medical care to patients presenting in the emergency setting. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the RMO ensures the delivery of high-quality emergency medical services while adhering to hospital protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide immediate medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
Conduct thorough medical examinations and order diagnostic tests as necessary to determine the severity and nature of patients" conditions.
Administer appropriate emergency interventions, including resuscitation procedures, to stabilize critically ill or injured patients.
Collaborate with consultants, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop. comprehensive treatment plans for patients requiring admission or transfer to specialized units.
Monitor patients" progress, response to treatment, and vital signs throughout their stay in the Emergency Department.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient medical records, including examination findings, treatment provided, and discharge instructions.
Participate in regular departmental meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of emergency medical services.
Provide guidance and support to junior medical staff, interns, and nursing personnel working in the Emergency Department.
Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and guidelines regarding patient care, safety, infection control, and medical ethics.
Maintain professional competence through ongoing medical education, training, and certification activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Valid medical license to practice as a Resident Medical Officer.
Completion of internship and residency training in emergency medicine or relevant specialty.
Prior experience working in emergency departments or acute care settings preferred.
Strong clinical skills in emergency assessment, resuscitation, and management of medical and surgical emergencies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make quick and sound clinical decisions.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
