Firefighters raced to Moray Drive in the early hours of this morning after an e-scooter burst into flame in someone's house.
Believed to be the fault of a non-standard charging cable, the fire woke the people inside at about 2am as it sent flames across the floor of their living room.
One person suffered smoke inhalation and burns to their feet from trying to move the scooter, and was taken to hospital.
Three fire engines and their crews entered the property to extinguish the blaze. It took them about an hour and a half.
It was fortunately caught early and did not spread too far through the property. There was some relatively minor fire and smoke damage.
Slough Fire Station has recommended using official charging cables, and where possible, charging lithium battery devices in a place with less flammable material, such as a garage.
