Pair arrested over fatal hit-and-run crash in Colnbrook

Thames Valley Police has arrested two people in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Colnbrook on Thursday evening.

An 18-year-old pedestrian died after being hit by a van driver in Horton Road, at the junction with Beacon Court, at about 5.30pm.

Police said the driver of a black Mercedes Sprinter van failed to stop at the scene.

The family of the 18-year-old man have been informed and are currently being supported by specially trained officers.

A 34-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from Slough, have been arrested in suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They are both currently in police custody.

Investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Mike Bettington, of the Roads Policing Department, said: “I am appealing to members of the public to help our investigation into this incident, in which a young man has tragically lost his life.

“The driver of the van did not stop at the scene.

“We have now recovered the vehicle, but we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle before, during or after the collision. Please review any CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage you might have and if you have any information then please contact us.”
