The A308 Braywick Roundabout, Maidenhead
A key transport link connecting Maidenhead, Windsor and the M4, is set to close for overnight repairs later this month.
The Royal Borough says it will close the A308 Braywick Roundabout on July 23 between 9pm and 6am to complete essential road resurfacing.
It has advised work is weather-dependent and start and completion dates may change.
Oldfield councillor Geoff Hill, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “The work on Braywick Roundabout, a key junction in the Royal Borough, has been timed to minimise impact on road users.
“And we would like to thank residents in advance for their patience during this period, which will help ensure that the contractor is able to complete the works as quickly as possible and with minimum inconvenience.”
Advance warning signs will be placed on approaches to the roundabout two weeks before the closure comes into effect.
Road users are advised to plan ahead of traveling and make use of diversions if needed.
Diversions in place during the closure are:
- For M4 traffic: via A404M, A4, A308 or via J7, A4, A308.
- For A308 traffic towards Maidenhead: via A308, A4, A355, A3222, A308.
- For A308 traffic towards Windsor: via A308, A4, A344, A332, A308.

Cllr Hill added: “This resurfacing work is an essential part of the council’s road maintenance programme, and is being undertaken by Volker Highways, the council’s highways contractor.
“The resurfacing will extend the life of the road surface and help reduce future maintenance requirements.”
Any changes to start and completion dates will be displayed on the advance warning signs.
