Papal exercise in ‘mysterious liturgy’

Sir, Your correspondents to date on the new transmission of the Missal all seem to be missing the real point of the exercise (letters, Sept 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9). The Pope has urged the restoration of Latin to the liturgy and restored the so-called Tridentine rite. If, as we are told, the present translation is second-rate and we are now, as many would argue, to have a third-rate translation foisted on us, to get us nearer to the “original” Latin, why settle for second or third best?
