Peer researcher recruitment

Are you currently providing security, catering, cleaning or driving services to TV productions? If yes, we want you to join our research team!

£200 per day + travel expenses / 4-5 days in total over approximately 6 months

We are recruiting up to four 'peer researchers' to join a small research team for a project to understand working conditions in the industry. You will receive paid-for training and support and take on the role of peer champion – this is a research role but no prior experience in doing research is required.

You will be given training on the project and then you will help to develop survey questions, recruit participants into the survey and analyse the findings. You will receive training and support to develop and run a focus group with a small number of research participants. You will review the findings and outputs together with the research lead. You will attend and may be a presenter at the report launch.

Essential criteria:

  • Currently working as a security guard/officer, catering worker, cleaner or driver

  • Have worked on TV productions in the last 12 months

  • Are based in the UK and speak English fluently (other languages are a bonus)

  • Like engaging with people

  • Want to improve working conditions for people in the industry

  • Have an interest in research and research methods

  • Are able to commit 4-5 days in total (spread over 4 months)

  • Have a right to work in the UK

The whole research process is anticipated to take 4-6 months and in total you will be required for 4-5 days over this time (mostly for a few hours at a time). We can be flexible to your availability and your location.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for 30-minute video call interview. For any questions, please contact: amelia.knott@tvhumanrights.org
