Vernon Kay joins 'the queen of panto' for Aladdin at the Wycombe Swan

Vernon Kay will perform alongside ‘the queen of panto’ La Voix in performances of Aladdin at the Wycombe Swan later this year.

The star, who now presents a BBC Radio 2 show, will take to the stage as the lead role in the Arabian fairy tale.

Aladdin is running throughout pantomime season at the swan - from December 13 to January 5.

Vernon said: “The Master of the Dad Joke is back! I’m so excited to be returning to the Wycombe Swan, my local theatre, in Aladdin this year.

 “It’s a fantastic story, an absolute classic. I can’t wait to get back on the stage for all the panto madness. Great song and dance, lots of audience interaction and amazing slapstick.

 “Expect a whole lot of high paced, high tempo full of energy and blink and you miss it action.  I’ll see you there.”

 Also a returning figure for this year’s pantomime at the Wycombe Swan is La Voix: Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist and star of Queen of the Universe – an international-drag singing contest.

“Darlings. Brace yourselves…it’s a return,” La Voix said. “Some would say revenge, but I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the Wycombe Swan to appear in Aladdin.

“I had an absolutely fabulous time being in Wycombe last Christmas with you all and the popular demand for me to return was too much to resist.”

Fiona Martin, theatre director said: "We are beyond excited to welcome Vernon Kay back home to Wycombe Swan this festive season.

“His return is eagerly anticipated, and him sharing the stage with the fabulous La Voix in Aladdin is truly a wish come true.”

She added: “We are thrilled to announce the return of our much-loved fabulous local red head La Voix, who had us feeling fabulously festive last year and we can’t wait to see them take to the stage and guide us on another magical journey.”
