In what was yet another incident involving vehicles, youngsters and social media reel shoots, a group of young people in
Gujarat learned a dangerous lesson about social media stunts. A group, reportedly filming a video for Instagram Reels, got their Mahindra Thar SUVs stuck in the rising tide at Mundra seaside in Kutch.
It is reported that the group intended to showcase the capabilities of the 4x4 SUVs by driving it through such challenging conditions.
As seen in the viral video, the youngsters are seen standing in the sea with two Mahindra Thars as the plan didn’t seem to work out and they found their SUVs stranded. The youths struggled to drive their red and white Mahindra Thar vehicles out of the water, but their efforts were in vain. With the help of locals, they eventually managed to pull the vehicles out of the water.

The incident unfolded as the high tide began to engulf the vehicles, trapping them in the process. Fortunately, vigilant locals launched a rescue operation to pull the vehicles back to safety before the tide rose any further.
No injuries were reported, but one of the SUVs suffered engine failure due to water damage. The Mundra Marine police took note of the incident and seized the two SUVs after recovering them. The youngsters reportedly abandoned the vehicles, and authorities are using the registration numbers to track them down. An FIR has also been registered.
Driving near the seaside is very dangerous and should be avoided. High tides can rise quickly, trapping vehicles in water and making escape difficult. Soft sand near the water can cause cars to get stuck, in this case, the Thar is a heavy SUV. Besides, saltwater can severely damage engines, leading to costly repairs. Sudden waves pose a risk of pushing or flipping vehicles, and wet sand and seaweed reduce tyre traction, increasing the chance of losing control.
