Blacklist 20 contractors who failed to work on schemes: Min
Mysuru: Minor irrigation minister NS Boseraju on Friday directed the officials to blacklist 20 electrical contractors who have failed to ensure electrification facility for the borewells drilled for beneficiaries identified under Scheduled Caste Component (SCP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) aimed at the development of SC/STs.
Presiding over the review meeting with officials from eight districts in Mysuru division, he said the electrical contractors failed to ensure electrification for the borewells allotted to beneficiaries under the scheme for the past three years.
He asked the officials to blacklist all the 20 electrical contractors and send a report to him.

Due to the general election, implementation of several works in the department had been delayed, he noted and asked the officials to expedite completion of the works within the set deadline.
Boseraju also directed the officials to cancel the work order allotted to a Hyderabad-based construction firm for its failure to take up the work to fill water to seven lakes coming under the limits of Chamundeshwari assembly segment.
The minister also asked the officials to conserve and protect lakes in its jurisdiction and to give importance to rainwater harvesting.
