Mysuru: Deputy commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy on Friday promised to attend to grievances and complaints filed during the Janaspandana meeting held at Nanjangud.
Speaking after participating in a public interaction meeting, he asked the officials to conduct Janaspandana every month to redress the grievances of the public.
The DC warned the officials with stern action if they failed to resolve the complaints received during the event.
Complaints related to drinking water, drainage, encroachment of government land and footpath along with civic complaints were made at the meeting.
A farmer leader urged the deputy commissioner to clear encroachment of gomala land by vested interests in various villages. He asked the DC to direct the forest department to plant trees after clearing the encroachment.
An ex-serviceman from Kalale village urged the DC to sanction land under the army quota for retired army personnel as there is provision for that. Responding to this, the DC promised to look into the demand. A resident from Nanjangud town asked the officials to clear clogged drains in the town as people are being affected by vector-borne diseases, including dengue. Reddy directed the Nanjangud Town Municipal Council to clear the blocked drainages on a priority.
