Man tied to tree, beaten to death for stalking woman in Gujarat
RAJKOT: A 42-year-old farm labourer was tied to a tree trunk and beaten to death allegedly by five members of a family for stalking and harassing a 33-year-old woman in Chandwana village of Mangrol taluka in Junagadh district on Sunday.
Police said that they have arrested the accused Sangeeta Ghosia (33), her father Kara Ghosia (58), her brothers Haresh Ghosia (37) and Jayesh Ghosia (31) and a relative Samat Majethia for the murder of Varjang Waja.
The accused were arrested after the victim's younger brother Dinesh Waja filed a complaint with the Shil police station in Junagadh alleging that his brother's murder was a preplanned conspiracy. Primary investigation revealed that for the past several months, Varjang was stalking Sangeeta every time she went to Mamadev temple in the village.
Three days before the incident, Sangeeta told her about Varjang. Sangeeta's family decided to teach Varjang a lesson. On June 23, when Varjang reached the temple at night, Sangeeta and her family members attacked him and tied him to a tree trunk. Police sources said that Varjang died due to fatal blows to his head and other body parts with sticks and clubs.tnn
