From Delhi reopening schools to Maharashtra banning Dahi Handi festival gatherings, here are the top updates on coronavirus. Delhi government announced reopening of schools from September 1. The schools in Delhi will open in a phased manner. DDMA issued SOPs to be followed which included staggered lunch breaks, 50 % occupancy in class among other rules. Teaching and non-teaching staff should be vaccinated, as per DDMA order. Meanwhile, a new Covid variant C.1.2 could be more transmissible, as per reports.
