Freelancers have the advantage of creating their own schedules. Align your work hours with your peak productivity, whether you're an early bird or a night owl. Embrace these natural cycles instead of conforming to a 9-to-5 mold. Techniques like the Pomodoro Technique or time blocking can be effective for managing tasks and work-life balance. In freelancing, time management is about harmonizing tasks with personal life and work preferences.

Identifying the peak productive hours is the real game changer in time management in freelancing. Yes, In pursuing time mastery, consider merging the concepts of focus and flow. Quantum time management involves aligning tasks with natural energy rhythms. Identifying peak productivity hours & allocating the most challenging tasks. This approach ensures that we are not just managing time but enriching the quality of our output. Dedicating specific days to thematic work also works better. Like mondays for creative work, and Tuesdays for client communication..etc., Themed days provide mental clarity, reduce decision fatigue, and enhance overall workflow efficiency. It's a strategic approach to managing energy and focus throughout the week.

Managing you time is an artform - what works for one may not work for another. So, its important to be self-aware to understand what works for you, and what works for your client. I find breaking down goals into smaller tasks with priorities, and daily deadlines works well to also see how much you've accomplished against a scope of work. One method I use is: I make a list of Top 5 goals daily, and draw a dotted line under the Top 3. These first 3 goals are the 'must-have's' that need to be accomplished in a certain timeframe, and everything underneath is a 'nice-to-have.' I re-prioritize and roll over goals as-needed, and always keep in synch with the client. This method helps set clear, realistic, and achievable goals in my busy day.

Two of the best time-management methods are: 1) The Pomodoro Technique: For every 25 minutes of work, take a 5-minute break. 2) The Eisenhower Matrix: Sort tasks into 4 categories: important/urgent, important/not urgent, not important/urgent, not important/not urgent. Both methods help you cut through the noise and focus on what truly matters.

Use time tracking tools and techniques that work for you. It would be ideal to have a dedicated workplace allowing you the environment needed to help you maintain focus. Remember, finding the right balance is a continuous process of adjustment. Be flexible and willing to adapt your strategies based on your evolving needs and priorities. Don't make the to-do list too long, it kills the effect. Instead: -make a Kanban board (Notion, Trello, Monday), - give tasks a proper priority (use ICE or PIE), - reprioritise frequently.

I deal with my own emotions and the emotions of my clients - Boards, CEOs and Leadership Teams -, which can be draining at times, especially, at the end of every quarter with anxiety to make the numbers. Something that works well for me is to exercise every single day. It allows me to disconnect and do active resting. The other fundamental is to take a week out every quarter (in summer 2). That makes all the difference. As I work a lot in North America and live in Europe, I’m also able to disconnect in the morning and get ready for a productive afternoon. Always plan the quarter, month and week ahead as I do for my clients.

Here are my 3M's to help you take control of your time: 1) MINDSET—What do you believe about time? Do you have enough? Is it abundant? Scarce? What you believe about time determines whether it will work in your favor, or work against you. 2) METHODOLOGY—Are you beginning with the end in mind? How do you determine priorities in your life and work? Especially, when it has become very difficult to pick the right one. 3 lesser discussed factors can help freelancers manage time better than anything. 1) Before practising anything to manage time better, get time to understand your habits, strengths and blockers. This is where you find your real self ready for the process. 2) Master the art of communication. This might sound weird, but with these skills, you can control a lot of deadlines and manage your unsettled things better. 3) Throw away arrogance, negative attitude, careless approach and indiscipline. Instead, practice being nice, humble, responsive and fast networking. Very few understand its importance in time management.

I have not used any, however known some software which helps.
