Summer is already in full swing and Ice Spice has declared the song of the season.

The rapper was asked by TODAY while on the 2024 BET Awards red carpet what she thought was the song of the summer. Her response?

“I think it’s ‘Espresso,’” she said, naming Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song. “I don’t think we have a choice. It’s ‘Espresso,’ yeah.”

The “Barbie World” rapper had quite the night at the June 30 awards show. She took the stage during the ceremony to perform “Phat Butt” and “Think U the S--- (Fart).”

And when it comes to Carpenter’s song of the moment, Ice Spice’s choice is a great one as “Espresso” appears to be all over the airwaves. The song reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is currently at No. 4. The catchy track also sits on No. 1 spot for a sixth week on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.

To celebrate the success of the song, and the selling out of her "Short n' Sweet Tour," Carpenter included the video of Ice Spice's choice in an Instagram post on July 4.

“and just like that you guys sold out the entire short n’ sweet tour, espresso went #1 at pop radio andddddd i slid down this slide :’) thank you all so so much!!! i can’t wait to see you on the road," she wrote.

Carpenter is on a roll, earning her first No. 1 song on the Hot 100 chart with her latest single “Please Please Please,” which includes rumored beau Barry Keoghan in the music video.

Billboard also notes that Carpenter is the first artist to place at No. 1 (“Please Please Please”) and No. 2 (“Espresso”) on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. concurrently for two weeks.

Both songs are included in the former Disney Channel star’s upcoming album, “Short n’ Sweet.”

As for Ice Spice, the Bronx native is about to release new music that could be “song of the summer” contenders. The artist is dropping her debut album, “Y2K!”, on July 26.

From the 10 track LP, she’s already released three singles, the two she performed at the 2024 BET Awards and “Gimme a Light.”
