Fantastic to see in #BBCNews that council tenants in east Devon have been invited to free workshops on using mobile phones and computers to improve their digital skills.  https://shorturl.at/MdqPm In today’s increasingly digital world, digital literacy is essential – for everything from working and travelling to receiving medical care and staying informed.     At Capgemini, we're committed to #DigitalInclusion, focusing on three key areas: equipping everyone with basic digital skills, opening doors to tech careers through training, and leveraging tech to solve challenges faced by charities and communities. We partner with expert organisations alongside our clients and colleagues across the UK to make sure our initiatives have the biggest impact. As an example, through our partnership with Digital Unite , a social enterprise that focuses on digital inclusion in the UK, we co-created the "Inspire" program which trains Capgemini employees as Digital Champions who can then teach basic digital skills to friends, family, and communities. We also partner with CodeYourFuture to provide free software development training, especially for those who might not otherwise have the opportunity. In ways such as this, Capgemini is aiming to help five million people globally through digital inclusion programmes by 2030. #DigitalSkills #DigitalInclusion #Tech

It's such a pleasure to be working with Capgemini in a partnership initiated by the brilliant Sally Caughey years ago now, and still growing and evolving year on year. We've been supporting #digitalinclusion together, not just by building a whole workforce understanding of it through the Inspire programme, but also in community based #digitalchampion projects in West Cumbria and Durham. Shout out also to your wonderful colleagues Iona Chamberlain-Clark Bethan Richmond Monju Meah Joy Shepheard-Walwyn whose energy, tenacity make it all happen. Thanks for your leadership and example supporting this critically important issue.

Good initiative, and good to be raising awareness of the problem. At SimPal we help at the sharp end where people can't afford a phone or access to the Internet. Then the training can begin.
