Its straight forward to carry out your dealings online. All the history of transactions is readily available. Actions are promptly carried out. Huge range of diverse investment and savings opportunities. Lots of up to date news and information. It makes me confident to deal with this company.

Have been using HL for several years…

Have been using HL for several years for both ISA and SIPP. The website is straight forward to use and the library of information available for funds, companies, trusts etc is second to none. The only downside is they are one of the more expensive platforms but you get what you pay for.

My first impressions of Hargreaves…

My first impressions of Hargreaves Lansdown are positive. I can’t give 5* because I have not been them for long. I like the incentive of an extra £100 for investing £10,000, and I look forward to receiving this in due course. I am impressed by the wide range of instant access and fixed term savings account available through HL. I managed to secure a 6 month fixed rate savings account earning over 5% with Sainsbury's bank which is not even available directly with Sainsbury’s bank.

Used HL for over 15 years and always…

Used HL for over 15 years and always had very good service.

The website can be a bit clunky, but where it counts - the money usually lands quickly, and the service pretty good!

Probably the best I have yet encountered.

As a new client I’m impressed by the ease and simplicity of HL’s systems and processes. All very user friendly. Articles, information and investment guidance are to a very high standard. A refreshing change.

My usual fund supermarket wasn't as helpful as HL.

My usual fund supermarket wasn't assisting with Raspberry Pi IPO, but HL were. So, HL gave a calm, efficient & non-intrusive service to close the deal. Perfectly satisfied and, who knows, I might port the whole caboodle to them in time.

Active savings is a very good idea

Active savings is a very good idea
To be honest, with a Bank you’ve used for a long time, you don’t always know what interest rate they pay
I thought about upgrading to a higher Interest paying account with the Bank, but found it somewhat complicated
By contrast, setting this up was easy, even for me!

Hargreaves always wins

Too much when I buy a position I get a poor fill. If the spread is 10/12. I end up nearer to 12 than near 10. Amazing lot the price is always in favour of the broker. Meaning that HL makes more money than I do, they make a large turn in the price giving me a worse price than they could’ve given me to ensure that they are the winner. Thanks for the service but you make the fat returns and we don’t,

Easy to pay money in but so difficult…

Easy to pay money in but so difficult to extract funds, seem to come up with lots of obstacles including new forms that can only be sent by post!! Very irritating

A follow up from HL reply
Now it seems these forms with all my accounts details have been “Lost in the Post” HL still say I can only access my account after completing these forms!

And I can track/view everything clearly and in depth if required.

Recently experience with Drawdown was…

Recently experience with Drawdown was very successful. Took 25% cash to go towards house purchase and the remaining SIPP continues to perform well.

Requested a 25% drawdown from my SIPP

Requested a 25% drawdown from my SIPP. They said it would take 10 working days. Heard nothing back. Chased them up after the 10 days and they said due to a backlog it would be 15 working days. No updates, no communication. Pathetic.
So they have your pension money for years and years in a HL SIPP but as soon as you come to withdraw, there are delays. Just give me my money HL! Probably going to close the HL account. Terrible service.

Great Rep and Service

As an existing Client, I transferred an Investment to HL.
The Rep I spoke to was very helpful, and the call was very quick, with the Rep asking particularly pertinent questions.
He advised a completion date of 6 weeks, however the transfer took 2 weeks.
Fantastic service!!

I have not had a recent experience with…

I have not had a recent experience with HL.Using the HL website is very easy to use and holds much information on stocks and investment trusts which I have some in a portfolio. The last time I logged on was about early June 2024.If and when I call the office I find them very helpful.

Stocks and Shares Isa restriction

I have been trying, for some time, to transfer cash in my Stocks and Shares Isa to cash Isa with H.L. Something I am assured is allowed in the Isa rules. I received an email from H.L. saying this was now possible. Unfortunately, I have now been informed that this is not possible with them, unless I was in position to use this year's allowance

Successful pension transfer

I have been using HL for many years and have always had a good service. I like the active web site which allows me to manage my funds well.

I have recently transferred my main pension pot to them. The transfer has been time consuming; taking longer than it should have, due mainly to my old pension provider being slow. HL was proactive in the process and responsive to my requests for updates throughout.
