This new agreement with Vodafone ensures that quality mobile network choice, performance, coverage and competition is enhanced to the benefit of millions of consumers, businesses and our mobile operator partners across the country.
We are extending and bolstering elements of our existing network sharing arrangement, while also ensuring there is a robust, balanced and functional structure in place for the long-term should Vodafone and Three’s proposed merger gain consent. We believe that this new agreement addresses the issues we have voiced and the CMA outlined in its initial decision, and will now continue our engagement with the regulator in this spirit.

We’ve completed the first phase of our Shared Rural Network rollout. Glencoe in Scotland has become the 227th rural community across the UK to benefit from improved #4G coverage.
Since the programme launched, we have led the way and have delivered more shared sites than any other operator. Our teams and partners have faced extreme weather conditions and tough terrain to install masts in some of the most remote areas of the UK, demonstrating our commitment to deliver improved connectivity for our customers in rural areas.
We’re now turning our focus to the second phase of the programme, bringing 4G connectivity to areas with no existing mobile service.

This week I attended the first anniversary celebrations of Ofcom’s D&I pledge.
As part of the pledge, we have committed to attracting and retaining senior women into tech roles across our business.

I’m excited to see the rollout of our next-generation caller ID service – helping reassure customers on who may be calling them before they even pick up the phone.
It’s a great tool to have as spammers and scammers become ever more sophisticated in their tactics.
Millions of O2 (Telefónica UK) customers are automatically set to benefit from our new caller ID technology – Brand ID!
Powered by voice security leader Hiya Inc., the tool acts as an anti-fraud filter which displays the details of a company or organisation making a call.
With around 150 UK businesses already signed up, this tool provides greater confidence and certainty around the identification of callers.

Today we announce our Q1 2024 financial results as Virgin Media O2.
While there is much to do in the remainder of the year, we are gathering momentum in accelerating fibre build and marketing the nexfibre footprint, launching new services to enhance and improve customer experience, and progressing wider IT efficiency programmes as we continue our digital transformation.
Ahead of price rise implementation, we delivered improved service revenue growth across both mobile and consumer fixed. Our teams also continue to innovate as shown by the targeted launch of #5G Standalone and a new 2Gbps broadband service on the nexfibre network in Q1, highlighting the future evolution of our networks as demand rises and new technologies emerge.
Our performance in Q1 sets the foundations for our full year guidance as we make key investments to support future growth.

Research conducted by O2 (Telefónica UK) to mark Skin Cancer Awareness month found that nearly 1 in 5 Brits would go on holiday to a warm climate, without sun protection – in the hope of catching a tan.
With almost 1 in 10 people only applying sunscreen when they feel they ‘might’ be burning, O2 have you covered.
In a bid to highlight the importance of sun safety this summer, O2 – the only major network operator to offer inclusive EU Roaming up to 25GB as standard – has partnered with British Skin Foundation and Green People Ltd to merge smartphones with sunscreen and create a limited-edition smartphone accessory complete with a built-in sunscreen to remind holidaymakers to ‘top up’ whilst on soaking up the sun.
